Who we are

What data we collect

When you use DriveKeeper we collect:

Your email address (for your account) — passwords are managed securely by Supabase Auth and are never accessible to us
Vehicle information you enter: registration plate, make, model, year
Dates you enter: MOT expiry, service dates, insurance renewal dates
Costs and fuel logs you record
Analytics events such as which screens you visit, buttons you tap, and actions you take in the app (e.g. adding a car, logging a fuel fill-up). These events do not include the content of your data, only the fact that an action occurred.

Why we collect it and our lawful basis

We collect this information solely to provide the DriveKeeper service — sending you reminders, showing your cost summaries, and storing your service history.

The lawful basis for processing your account and vehicle data is contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) — we cannot provide the service without it. Analytics data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in operating and improving the service.

We do not sell your data, share it with insurers, or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Supabase — stores your data securely in the cloud. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.
RevenueCat — manages your subscription and billing through the App Store or Google Play. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
Expo — the platform used to deliver the app and push notifications. Privacy policy: expo.dev/privacy.
PostHog — provides analytics so we can understand how the app is used and improve it. PostHog receives anonymised event data (screen views, feature interactions) and your PostHog user ID, but not the content of your vehicle data or costs. Privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy.

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in London, UK. It is protected by row-level security, meaning no other DriveKeeper user can access your data.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing drivekeeper@outlook.com or using the delete account option in settings.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Request a copy of your data in a portable format
Object to how we process your data
Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

To exercise any of these rights, email drivekeeper@outlook.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this policy we will notify you via the app. Continued use of DriveKeeper after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
